SENTRON 3VA2010-7JP42-0AA0 — 100 A MCCB with ETU550 and communication
The Siemens 3VA2010-7JP42-0AA0 is a SENTRON-series molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current at up to 70 °C ambient, with four poles and an ETU550 electronic overcurrent release. It is designed for line protection in distribution panels and switchboards, with a rated insulation voltage of 800 V. The ETU550 trip unit provides adjustable long-time, short-time, instantaneous, and ground-fault protection curves — the electronic logic means coordination with downstream breakers is programmable, not fixed. The breaker includes a communication function, so it can report status and trip events to a BMS or PLC over the SENTRON bus system.
Breaking capacity and selectivity headroom
Rated breaking capacity is 330 kA at 240 V AC, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 3 kA at 690 V. At typical 400 V-class distribution voltages, the 242 kA rating gives substantial headroom for high-fault installations like large motor control centers or transformer secondaries — you can coordinate this breaker upstream of lower-rated MCCBs without worrying about cascading failure.
Panel integration and mounting
Dimensions are 86 mm deep, 140 mm wide, 181 mm tall — fits standard MCCB panel cutouts and busbar centers for a 4-pole 100 A frame. Front face carries IP40 protection, suitable for enclosed switchboards where the door provides the main seal. Power loss is 7.7 W maximum at rated current, so thermal rise inside the enclosure is manageable even in a densely packed lineup.
