What this breaker is and what it does
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2010-7KP36-0AA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current, designed for line protection. It carries an ETU850 electronic trip unit. Insulation voltage is rated 800 V. Breaking capacity is 330 kA at 240 V, tapering to 242 kA at 415/440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 3 kA at 690 V. At 415 V, that 242 kA SCCR handles high-fault utility feeds without cascading upstream — you can size the main breaker for full selectivity, not just series rating. The 3 kA at 690 V is a low-end figure; this is not a 690 V main breaker for high-fault installations. The breaker includes a communication function and other measurement functions.
Physical fit and panel integration
Dimensions: 181 mm height, 105 mm width, 86 mm depth. That width is the standard 105 mm for a 3-pole SENTRON 3VA frame — it mounts on the DIN rail or directly to the panel backplate with the same footprint as the 3VA1 family. The IP40 front protection means it is splash-resistant from the front but not sealed; install it inside a dead-front enclosure rated for the environment. No undervoltage release and no voltage trigger on this variant — if you need UVR or shunt trip for emergency-off circuits, you order a different suffix. The trip indicator is also absent, so you rely on the ETU850's local LED or the communication interface for trip status.
