What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA2010-7KQ36-0AA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current on a 3-pole frame, designed specifically for line protection in distribution panels. Its breaking capacity reaches 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 3 kA at 690 V — covering high-fault utility feeds and transformer secondaries without cascading upstream gear. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V.
Thermal performance and panel fit
The breaker carries its full 100 A rating from 40 °C through 70 °C ambient — no derating curve to calculate for a warm enclosure. Footprint is 86 mm deep by 105 mm wide by 181 mm tall, which fits standard MCCB panel cutouts and leaves room for side-by-side mounting on a DIN rail or direct panel screw-down. Maximum power loss is 7.7 W — low enough that ventilation slots in a typical IP3X enclosure handle the heat without forced air.
Monitoring and communication
This MCCB includes a communication function and a ground-fault monitoring version using summation current formation on the L-conductor — useful for feeding leakage data back to a BMS or PLC without an external CT block. No undervoltage release or voltage trigger is fitted on this variant; trip indication is not included on the front bezel.
