MCCB for high-fault line protection
The Siemens 3VA2010-8HM32-0AA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection duty. It carries a rated continuous current Iu of 100 A across the full operating temperature range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to the maximum 70 °C ambient. The 3-pole design with an ETU330 electronic trip unit gives you adjustable long-time delay (tr) from 0.5 to 17 seconds, letting you coordinate with downstream breakers. Breaking capacity is the headline number here: 440 kA at 240 V, 330 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 220 kA at 500 V, and 53 kA at 690 V. Those figures mean this MCCB can safely interrupt fault currents up to those levels without cascading upstream — critical for high-fault installations like transformer secondaries or large motor control centers. The rated insulation voltage Ui is 800 V, so it's rated for 690 V systems with margin. Mounting dimensions are 181 mm high, 105 mm wide, 86 mm deep. The front face carries an IP40 protection class, meaning it's protected against tools and wires >1 mm but not sealed against moisture — standard for indoor panel installation. An optional motor drive is available as a field-installable accessory.
