What this MCCB is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA2025-6JP32-0AA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) sized for line protection in distribution panels. It carries a continuous rated current of 25 A across the full ambient temperature range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling, per the datasheet. The 3-pole design with an ETU550 electronic trip unit gives you adjustable overload and short-circuit protection curves, plus communication capability for integration into a monitored power system.
Breaking capacity — what the numbers mean for your fault level
The interrupting rating is 242 kA at 240 V AC and 187 kA at 415 V AC. At 500 V it still holds 121 kA; at 690 V it drops to 3 kA. For a 480 V panel, the 187 kA figure at 415 V is the closest published point — that is well above typical utility fault currents for most industrial services. The 3 kA at 690 V is a niche value; this breaker is not intended for 690 V distribution where high fault current is expected.
Physical fit and panel integration
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, and 86 mm deep. The 105 mm width is standard for a 3-pole MCCB in this frame size — it fits the same panel cutout and busbar spacing as other SENTRON 3VA2 devices. Front IP40 protection means it is suitable for enclosed distribution boards; no washdown rating, so keep it behind a panel door in wet environments.
