What this MCCB is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA2025-7JQ42-0AA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection, carrying a continuous current Iu of 25 A across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed in a warm panel. Its ETU560 electronic trip unit gives you adjustable N-conductor protection (OFF, 40 % to 160 %) and ground-fault monitoring via summation current formation on L + N — so it handles both overload and earth-leakage in one package without an external relay. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, operating voltage up to 690 V AC, and the interrupting ratings climb to 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415/440 V, and 187 kA at 500 V — only at 690 V does it drop to 3 kA, so verify your fault level if you are running a 690 V line.
Panel fit and mounting
The 4-pole body measures 140 mm wide, 181 mm tall, and 86 mm deep — a standard MCCB footprint that drops into most SENTRON distribution boards and panel-mount cutouts without re-drilling. Front face carries IP40 protection — fine for a closed panel, but keep it behind a door if the enclosure sees washdown or dust. Maximum power loss is only 0.5 W, so heat buildup inside a dense cabinet is negligible.
What the ETU560 trip unit buys you
The electronic trip unit supports communication functions — so this breaker can talk to a higher-level monitoring system for load profiling and event logging, not just trip-and-forget. No undervoltage release and no voltage trigger built in; if you need UVR, you add it externally. Storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C; operation from -25 °C to 70 °C — covers most plant-floor conditions without special handling.
