The 3-pole design and line-protection profile suit it for main feeder or large branch protection in distribution panels.
Breaking capacity across voltages — the real fit check
The interrupting rating drops with system voltage: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3 kA at 690 V. The 40 A continuous rating holds flat through the temperature range, so you don't lose headroom in a warm enclosure.
The 2.2 W maximum power loss is low enough that ventilation spacing in a typical distribution board is adequate. Ground-fault monitoring uses summation-current formation on the L-conductor, which means it detects leakage without a separate neutral CT in most configurations.
Communication and monitoring capability
This MCCB includes a communication function — it can report status and metering data over the SENTRON bus system, which is useful for remote monitoring in a facility management or energy dashboard setup.
