The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2040-6HL42-0AA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 40 A continuous current, built around the ETU320 electronic trip unit. It's designed for line protection in distribution panels where adjustable overcurrent response and high interrupting capacity are required. The ETU320 trip unit gives you an adjustable thermal-magnetic style response curve, with the continuous current setting range spanning 60 A to 480 A — so the 40 A frame can be tuned to protect downstream conductors or equipment without swapping the breaker body. Breaking capacity reaches 242 kA at 240 V, dropping to 187 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 121 kA at 500 V, and 3 kA at 690 V.
