MCCB with ETU350 — 40 A, 3-pole, 440 kA at 240 V
The Siemens 3VA2040-8HN32-0AA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 40 A continuous current across the full ambient range from -25 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling. Three poles, fitted with an ETU350 electronic trip unit. The 440 kA breaking capacity at 240 V (330 kA at 415 V, 220 kA at 500 V, 53 kA at 690 V) puts this squarely in the high-fault-current class for industrial switchboards and transformer secondaries where available fault current is severe. Rated insulation voltage Ui is 800 V.

Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, 86 mm deep — fits standard panel-mount cutouts for 3VA frame sizes. IP40 on the front face; suitable for enclosed distribution boards where the breaker is not exposed to washdown or dust ingress. The ETU350 offers adjustable long-time (lg) and instantaneous (li) pickup settings — li is fixed at 480 A minimum and maximum, lg minimum is 0.4 s. No communication module, no ground-fault monitoring built in. Optional motor drive available for remote operation.
