63 A SENTRON MCCB — line protection with undervoltage release
The Siemens 3VA2063-5HL36-0BC0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 63 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to the 70 °C operating maximum. That makes it a drop-in for panels where ambient heat buildup is a concern; the breaker holds its full 63 A rating even in a warm cabinet. Three-pole construction with a line-protection design means it's configured for feeder or branch-circuit duty, not motor protection. The interrupting ratings are substantial: 187 kA at 240 V AC, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3 kA at 690 V. At 240 V, that 187 kA covers high-fault scenarios near the transformer secondary without cascading upstream. It ships with an integrated undervoltage release (UVR) and two auxiliary switches in HQ configuration. The UVR trips the breaker when control voltage drops below a set threshold — useful for safety circuits or coordinated shutdown sequences. The auxiliary switches provide status feedback (open/closed) to a PLC or indication lamp.
