63 A MCCB with shunt trip — what the ratings mean for your panel
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2063-5HL36-0KA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 63 A continuous current with no derating across the full 40 °C to 70 °C operating range — meaning you can load it to 63 A in a warm enclosure without bumping the frame size. The 187 kA breaking capacity at 240 V drops to 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, then to 75.6 kA at 500 V, and finally to 3 kA at 690 V. That steep falloff at 690 V means this breaker is sized for 400 V-class distribution panels, not 690 V motor circuits. The built-in shunt trip (STL) release lets a remote signal or safety relay trip the breaker independently of overcurrent — useful for emergency-off or interlock circuits where you need to kill power without pulling the handle.
Panel fit and footprint
At 105 mm wide × 181 mm tall × 86 mm deep, this MCCB fits standard SENTRON 3VA panel cutouts and busbar systems. The 86 mm depth (3.39 in) is shallow enough for 200 mm-deep enclosures with room for wiring gutters. No undervoltage release or ground-fault module on this variant — the only auxiliary is the shunt trip, so verify your trip-coil wiring before commissioning.
