What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA2063-5HM36-0AA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) built for line protection — the job of guarding a feeder or main from overcurrent and short-circuit faults. It carries a continuous rated current of 63 A across the full operating temperature range from 40 °C to 70 °C, so no derating is needed as the panel warms up. Three poles handle three-phase circuits. The breaking capacity climbs to 187 kA at 240 V AC, drops to 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, and holds at 75.6 kA at 500 V — numbers that tell you it can interrupt a massive fault without blowing apart, which matters when the available fault current at the panel is high. At 690 V it still clears 3 kA. Insulation voltage is rated 800 V, and the maximum power loss sits at 5.4 W — low enough that heat buildup in a crowded enclosure is manageable. Operating temperature spans -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range goes from -40 °C to 80 °C.
Dimensions and panel fit
The breaker measures 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, and 86 mm deep. That 105 mm width is three standard 35 mm module spaces on a DIN rail — a panel builder can plan the gland plate and fill factor around that footprint. The 86 mm depth means it clears most shallow enclosures without forcing a deeper box.
