63 A MCCB with full interrupting coverage across voltage tiers
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2063-5HM42-0AA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 63 A continuous current with no thermal derating across the full 40 °C to 70 °C ambient range — meaning you can load it to 63 A in a warm panel without bumping the frame size. Interrupting capacity steps down cleanly with voltage: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3 kA at 690 V. That 121 kA at 415 V gives you headroom for high-fault utility feeds without cascading upstream breakers. This variant is configured for line protection with ground-fault monitoring via summation current formation on the L + N conductors — a common spec for solidly-grounded wye systems where you need both overcurrent and ground-fault in one device.
Panel fit and mounting
Dimensions are 181 mm tall, 140 mm wide, 86 mm deep — a standard SENTRON 3VA2 footprint that drops into existing 4-pole MCCB cutouts without re-drilling the sub-panel. No undervoltage release, no communication module, no trip indicator — this is a straight electromechanical breaker with thermal-magnetic trip; the trip unit is fixed at 63 A, adjustable down to 16 A minimum.
Lifecycle and sourcing
Maximum power loss is 5.4 W per pole, which keeps the internal temperature rise manageable in a crowded enclosure. Storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C; operating ambient is -25 °C to 70 °C.
