63 A MCCB for line protection — interrupting capacity across the voltage range
The Siemens 3VA2063-5HN32-0AH0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for 63 A continuous at up to 70 °C ambient, with a 3-pole configuration and an interrupting capacity of 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415/440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3 kA at 690 V. This SCCR spread means the breaker can handle high-fault utility feeds at lower voltages while still clearing a fault on a 690 V drive bus — the 3 kA at 690 V is the weak point to watch when the upstream transformer is sized for full kA. The 800 V rated insulation voltage confirms it's rated for 690 V line-to-line applications, not just 480 V panels.
Panel fit and auxiliary switch complement
The breaker measures 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, and 86 mm deep — a standard SENTRON 3VA2 frame footprint that fits existing DIN-rail or panel-mount layouts. It ships with 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch (HQ type), providing three dry contacts for status feedback to a PLC or annunciator panel. The line-protection design (no undervoltage release, no communication function) keeps it a straightforward thermal-magnetic or electronic-trip MCCB for feeder and branch circuits.
