63 A MCCB with 187 kA interrupting capacity — built for high-fault panels
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2063-5HN36-0DC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 63 A continuous current across the full ambient range from -25 °C to 70 °C, with no derating needed up to 70 °C. Its interrupting capacity hits 187 kA at 240 V and still delivers 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V — enough to handle most industrial fault-current scenarios without cascading upstream breakers. At 690 V the rating drops to 3 kA, so verify system voltage against that curve before specifying.
Line protection design with integrated undervoltage release
This MCCB is configured for line protection — not motor or feeder — and ships with an undervoltage release (UVR) and two HQ auxiliary switches. The UVR drops the breaker when control voltage falls below the dropout threshold, which is useful in safety circuits where loss of control power must open the main contacts. The auxiliary switches provide status feedback to a PLC or annunciator panel. No communication function or ground-fault monitoring is built in.
Panel fit and thermal budget
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, and 86 mm deep — a standard SENTRON 3VA2 footprint that drops into existing DIN-rail or panel-mount layouts without re-drilling. Maximum power loss is 7.9 W, so ventilation planning is straightforward in a sealed enclosure. Storage range spans -40 °C to 80 °C; the unit can sit in an unheated warehouse or shipping container without issue.
