What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA2063-5JQ32-0AA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) sized for line protection in distribution panels. Rated 63 A continuous on a 3-pole frame, it's built to handle the main feed or a large subfeed in an industrial switchboard. Breaking capacity is the headline here: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and at 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3 kA at 690 V. That 187 kA at 240 V is a high-interrupting rating — it clears a serious fault without the arc re-striking, which matters when the transformer is right next to the panel. It carries a communication function and ground-fault monitoring via summation current formation on the L-conductor, so it can talk to a higher-level system and report ground faults without a separate relay.
Mounting and integration
The 3VA2063-5JQ32-0AA0 measures 86 mm deep, 105 mm wide, and 181 mm tall — a standard MCCB footprint that fits most DIN-rail or panel-mount enclosures without re-drilling. Three poles, so it's a straight swap for any 3-pole MCCB in the same current class.
Environmental and electrical limits
Rated insulation voltage is 800 V. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage from -40 °C to 80 °C. Maximum power loss is 5.4 W — negligible for panel heat budgeting.
