63 A MCCB with ETU560 — what the ratings mean for your panel
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2063-5JQ32-0CC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 63 A continuous current (Iu) across a 40 °C to 50 °C ambient, derating to 53.55 A at 70 °C — so in a warm enclosure you still get full 63 A up to 50 °C, then a predictable 5% per step above that. Breaking capacity hits 187 kA at 240 V and 121 kA at 415 V, which puts it in the high-fault zone for industrial mains — you can use it downstream of a transformer or in a service entrance without worrying about cascading failures upstream. The ETU560 electronic trip unit gives you adjustable long-time, short-time, and instantaneous protection curves, plus a built-in communication function so it talks to your PLC or BMS over the SENTRON bus — no separate comm module needed. It ships with an integrated undervoltage release (UVR) and two HQ auxiliary switches for status feedback, and the base switch variant is order code 3VA2063-5JQ32-0AA0 if you need the bare breaker without the auxiliaries.
Panel fit and mounting
Footprint is 105 mm wide × 181 mm tall × 86 mm deep. Maximum power loss is 7.9 W, so heat buildup in a sealed cabinet is manageable — no forced ventilation required for a single unit, but cluster several together and you'll want to check the cumulative dissipation. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to +70 °C; storage from -40 °C to +80 °C covers most site conditions including unheated warehouses.
