63 A, 3-pole SENTRON MCCB — line protection with high interrupting capacity
The Siemens 3VA2063-5JQ32-0HC0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated at 63 A full-scale, 3-pole, designed for line protection. It carries a maximum breaking capacity of 756 A and delivers 187 kA interrupting at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3 kA at 690 V — the 187 kA figure at 240 V means it can safely clear very high fault currents in low-voltage distribution without upstream cascading. The breaker includes a communication function for integration into monitoring or energy-management systems, and comes with two auxiliary switches (HQ design) plus a shunt trip (STL) undervoltage release. The shunt trip allows remote tripping via a control signal — useful for emergency-off circuits or automated load shedding. Thermal rating is flat across ambient temperatures from 40 °C to 70 °C — the 63 A rating holds at every point in that range, so no derating is needed for a warm panel environment.
Dimensions and panel fit
The breaker measures 86 mm deep, 105 mm wide, and 181 mm high. The 105 mm width is the standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for this SENTRON frame size — it fits existing 3VA2063 panel cutouts and busbar arrangements without modification.
