What it is and what it does
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2063-7HM32-0KF0 is a molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 63 A continuous at 40 °C through 70 °C — no derating needed across that span. Three poles, line protection design. The interrupting ratings are the headline: 330 kA at 240 V AC, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 3 kA at 690 V. That 330 kA at 240 V puts it in the high-fault-current class for industrial distribution, not a light commercial panel. Built-in auxiliary switch configuration: one auxiliary switch plus one trip alarm switch (HQ type). Also includes a shunt trip (STL) for remote opening. Trip indicator and voltage trigger present; undervoltage release is not fitted. No communication function — this is a standalone line protection breaker, not a power monitoring device.
Panel fit and environment
Dimensions: 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, 86 mm deep. That 86 mm depth matters for shallow enclosures — verify gland plate clearance before cutting the back panel. Operating temperature range -25 °C to 70 °C; storage from -40 °C to 80 °C. Power loss is 3 W maximum, negligible for thermal budgeting inside a sealed cabinet.
