MCCB with ETU550 — 63 A, 4-Pole, Line Protection
The Siemens 3VA2063-7JP46-0AA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 63 A continuous current, with four poles and an ETU550 electronic trip unit. It is designed for line protection in distribution panels and switchboards, carrying a 330 kA interrupting capacity at 240 V and 242 kA at 415 V. The 63 A rating holds across the full ambient temperature range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed for elevated panel temperatures up to that ceiling. That simplifies panel layout when the breaker sits near other heat sources.
Interrupting Capacity and Selectivity
This MCCB delivers 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 3 kA at 690 V. The high fault-current ratings at common low-voltage levels (240–500 V) give the site electrical engineer headroom for selectivity coordination downstream — the breaker clears a fault without upstream devices tripping, keeping the rest of the line online. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, and the maximum operating temperature is 70 °C with a minimum of -25 °C. Storage range spans -40 °C to 80 °C.
Panel Integration and Dimensions
Dimensions are 181 mm height, 140 mm width, and 86 mm depth. The 86 mm depth is the key fit dimension for shallow enclosures — verify gland-plate clearance if back-panel wiring is tight. Front-side IP40 protection covers the operator interface. The ETU550 trip unit supports communication functions, but this variant has no undervoltage release, no ground-fault monitoring, and no voltage trigger. Trip indicator is not fitted. The breaker is designed for line protection duty.
