What it is and where it fits
The Siemens 3VA2063-7KP36-0AA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) with an ETU850 electronic trip unit, rated 63 A continuous current, and designed for line protection in three-phase distribution panels. It's a current-production part — still in active manufacture, so no last-time-buy scramble for BOM lines that specify it.
What the ratings mean for your panel
The 63 A continuous rating holds across the full ambient temperature range from 40 °C through 70 °C — no derating curve to chase for warm enclosures. That's unusual for a compact MCCB and simplifies panel thermal calculations. The ETU850 electronic trip unit offers an adjustable overload setting from 95 A minimum up to 756 A maximum (the frame's ultimate limit). That wide band lets you tune the breaker to the actual load without swapping hardware — useful when the same panel build serves different motor sizes. Short-circuit current ratings: 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415/440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 3 kA at 690 V. The 330 kA at 240 V covers high-fault utility feeds; the 242 kA at 415 V handles most European industrial distribution. At 690 V it drops to 3 kA — that's the limit for that voltage class on this frame size.
Physical fit and integration
Dimensions: 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, 86 mm deep. IP40 on the front face means it's protected against tools and small wires entering the enclosure, but not against water ingress. Mount it in a panel with at least IP54 overall if the environment sees washdown or condensation. Communication function is built in — the ETU850 supports data exchange with the SENTRON powermanagement system for load monitoring and selective coordination studies. No external module required for basic bus communication.
