The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2110-5HK42-0AA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current across the full ambient range from -25 °C to 70 °C, with no derating needed up to 70 °C. Breaking capacity hits 187 kA at 240 V and stays at 121 kA through 440 V, then drops to 75.6 kA at 500 V and 3.7 kA at 690 V. That 187 kA figure at 240 V is the headline number for high-fault panelboards; at 415/440 V the 121 kA still covers most industrial service-entrance applications. Power loss is 10 W maximum, which matters for thermal management in a dense MCC lineup.
Sourcing and lifecycle — active production, quoted to order
The 3VA series is Siemens' current-generation MCCB platform, so replacements and spare parts are straightforward. No need to stockpile or hunt for NOS.
That 140 mm width for a 4-pole frame is standard for the 3VA2 frame size — it occupies the same panel footprint as other 3VA2 breakers.
How the ETU340 trip unit works for coordination
That short-time delay lets you coordinate downstream breakers for selective tripping, so a fault on a branch doesn't take out the main. This is the key difference from a thermal-magnetic MCCB: you get adjustable pickup and time bands, not fixed curves.
