MCCB for high-fault panel positions
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2110-5HL32-0AG0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C, with no derating needed up to that ceiling. The line-protection design means it's tuned for cable and busbar protection rather than motor-starting duty, so the thermal-magnetic curve is set accordingly.
At 240 V the breaker clears 187 kA; at 415 V and 440 V it holds at 121 kA. At 500 V the rating drops to 75.6 kA, and at 690 V it's 3.7 kA. That steep roll-off above 500 V means this breaker is sized for 480/277 V or 400/230 V distribution, not 690 V industrial networks. The minimum interrupting rating is 150 A, which governs the low-end fault clearing.
Thermal performance and enclosure fit
The breaker dissipates a maximum of 10 W at full load, which keeps internal panel temperature rise manageable in a standard enclosure.
