What this MCCB carries — and where it drops in
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2110-5HL32-0JL0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection, carrying 100 A continuous at 40 °C and an interrupting capacity of 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 79 kA at 500 V, and 4.25 kA at 690 V. The ETU320 electronic trip unit handles the overcurrent release, and the auxiliary contact set includes 2 auxiliary switches plus a trip alarm and an electrical alarm switch (HQ). A shunt trip (STL) design of the auxiliary release is integrated, and the supplied basic switch is order code 3VA2110-5HL32-0AA0.
Thermal derating — the real continuous-current limit
The 100 A rating holds at ambient up to 50 °C; above that it steps down: 96.25 A at 55 °C, 92.5 A at 60 °C, 88.75 A at 65 °C, and 85 A at 70 °C. Maximum power loss is 10 W, and the operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C.
Panel fit — dimensions and mounting
The breaker measures 181 mm high, 105 mm wide, and 86 mm deep. It snaps onto a DIN rail in the standard SENTRON 3VA panel footprint, with no phase-failure detection or communication function onboard — this is a pure line-protection device.
