What this MCCB delivers
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2110-5HL36-0CA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling. That flat thermal curve simplifies panel design: you size the breaker for the load, not the enclosure temperature. Breaking capacity hits 187 kA at 240 V, dropping to 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, then 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V. For a 100 A frame, those numbers mean it handles high-fault scenarios on the secondary side of a distribution transformer without needing a current-limiting upstream device in most cases. It is designed for line protection (cable/feeder protection) and comes with an integrated undervoltage release (UVR) — the UVR trips the breaker when supply voltage drops below a threshold, preventing automatic restart after a power loss. No communication function or ground-fault monitoring on this variant.
Panel fit and mounting
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, 86 mm deep — a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint that fits most distribution panelboards and switchgear cubicles without re-drilling. The 86 mm depth (3.39 in) leaves room for rear-connected busbars or cable ladders behind the mounting plate. Max power dissipation is 12.5 W at full rated current — negligible for most enclosures, but worth checking if you are packing multiple breakers in a sealed, unventilated box. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range -40 °C to 80 °C.
