The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2110-5HL36-0HA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current across the full 40 °C to 70 °C ambient range — no derating needed up to that ceiling. Its 800 V rated insulation voltage and breaking capacities of 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V give it the headroom for high-fault panelboards and main feeder duty. The shunt trip (STL) auxiliary release lets you remotely trip the breaker from a safety circuit or E-stop string, which is common in machine-tool and conveyor line disconnects.
Sizing and selectivity
Rated continuous current is 100 A, with a minimum adjustable trip setting of 150 A and a maximum of 1 200 A — that's a wide band for coordinating with downstream branch breakers. The 3-pole construction and line-protection design mean it's intended for the main incoming feed, not motor or generator protection. The 86 mm depth and 105 mm width fit standard distribution panel gutters; the 181 mm height is typical for a 3-pole frame in this class.
Auxiliary release and integration
The shunt trip (STL) release is factory-installed on the supplied basic switch 3VA21105HL360AA0. It operates on a separate voltage trigger — you wire it to a control voltage source. When the coil is energized, it mechanically trips the breaker. Common uses: remote emergency stop, undervoltage protection schemes, or interlocking with a fire-alarm panel. There is no undervoltage release on this variant.
Environmental and lifecycle
This is a current-production part. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C. Maximum power loss is 10 W. No communication function, no ground-fault monitoring, no trip indicator.
