What this MCCB delivers
The Siemens 3VA2110-5HN32-0AB0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current, with a breaking capacity of 187 kA at 240 V AC — enough to handle high-fault utility feeds or transformer secondaries without cascading upstream. At 415 V and 440 V it still holds 121 kA, and at 500 V it interrupts 79 kA; only at 690 V does it drop to 4.25 kA, so it is primarily a low-voltage distribution breaker, not a 690 V motor-circuit device. The electronic ETU350 trip unit gives you adjustable overload and short-time protection curves — useful for selective coordination downstream of a transformer or upstream of sub-feeders. The breaker carries two auxiliary switches (HP type) for status feedback to a PLC or annunciator panel.
Panel fit and integration
The 3VA2110-5HN32-0AB0 measures 105 mm wide by 181 mm tall by 86 mm deep — a standard SENTRON 3VA frame size that fits DIN-rail or screw-mount panel layouts. The IP40 front protection means it is suited for enclosed distribution boards where the door provides the environmental seal. Rated continuous current holds at 100 A up to 50 °C ambient; above that it derates linearly to 85 A at 70 °C. Plan your enclosure thermal budget accordingly if the breaker sits near transformers or drives.
Selectivity and coordination
With the ETU350 trip unit, this MCCB supports short-time delay settings for zone-selective interlocking or time-based coordination with downstream breakers. The 187 kA interrupting rating at 240 V gives headroom for high-fault installations without requiring a current-limiting fuse upstream.
