MCCB for main or feeder protection — 100 A, 187 kA SCCR
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2110-5HN36-0AJ0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous at 40 °C, with a maximum breaking capacity of 187 kA at 240 V AC. That SCCR number means it can safely interrupt a fault up to 187 kA without the arc flashing over or damaging the bus — critical for high-fault installations like transformer secondaries or large motor control centers. At 415 V and 440 V it still holds 121 kA, and at 690 V it drops to 4.25 kA, so the voltage-dependent curve governs where you place it in the distribution. The ETU350 electronic trip unit gives you adjustable overload and short-circuit protection curves (LSI or LSIG depending on options), plus a trip indicator on the front for fast fault diagnosis. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, which covers 480/600 V class systems with margin. Power loss maxes at 10 W — negligible for panel thermal budget but worth noting if you pack breakers tight.
Physical fit and panel integration
Dimensions: 181 mm high, 105 mm wide, 86 mm deep. That 105 mm width is standard for a 3-pole MCCB in the SENTRON 3VA2 frame — mounts on a DIN rail or bolts directly to a mounting plate. Front IP40 protection keeps dust out of the trip unit and terminals. Operating temperature range -25 °C to 70 °C; storage from -40 °C to 80 °C.
Auxiliary contacts and release options
Comes with 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch (HP type) factory-installed — no separate add-on needed for remote status or alarm signaling. No undervoltage release, no shunt trip, no ground-fault module on this variant. The basic switch base is 3VA2110-5HN36-0AA0 if you ever need the bare breaker without auxiliaries.
