What it is and what it does
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2110-5HN36-0CH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling. That makes it a stable line-protection choice for a distribution panel where the load current stays under 100 A and you don't want to recalculate ampacity when the panel runs warm. Breaking capacity reaches 187 kA at 240 V AC, 121 kA at 415/440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V. At the common 415 V industrial level, that 121 kA rating gives substantial headroom for high-fault installations without needing a current-limiting upstream device.
Panel fit and auxiliary wiring
Dimensions are 181 mm high, 105 mm wide, 86 mm deep — a standard SENTRON 3VA footprint that fits existing DIN-rail or panel-mount layouts. The 105 mm width matches the 3-pole frame; no extra side clearance needed beyond normal MCCB spacing. Comes with 2 auxiliary switches plus a trip alarm switch (HQ), and an undervoltage release (UVR) built in. That covers remote status indication and undervoltage protection without adding external relays — useful for a safety circuit or a PLC input that needs to know the breaker state. Maximum power loss is 12.5 W — modest for a 100 A frame, so ventilation in a standard enclosure is adequate. No forced cooling required for this single unit.
