The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2110-5HN42-0AA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current, designed for line protection in distribution panels. It carries an ETU350 electronic trip unit, giving you adjustable overload and short-circuit protection curves without swapping the breaker body.
Breaking capacity and fit
At 415 V this MCCB interrupts 121 kA — that's the fault-clearing capacity for a 100 A frame, so it handles high available fault current on the secondary side of a typical 1 000 kVA transformer without cascading upstream. The 86 mm depth and 140 mm width match the standard SENTRON 3VA2 footprint, meaning it drops into the same panel cutout as the 3VA2116-5JP32-0AE0 (a 160 A frame) — same mounting pattern, same bus-bar spacing. You can swap the 100 A for the 160 A version later if the load grows, as long as the feeder and bus bars are sized for it.
Integration notes
Mounts on a DIN rail or directly to a backplate via the four screw holes on the 181 mm tall body. The ETU350 trip unit is field-configurable — no need to pull the breaker for rating changes. Power loss at rated current is 10 W, so ventilation in a sealed enclosure is advisable if you're packing multiple breakers side by side. The front face carries IP40 protection; the terminals are IP20 when wired.
Environmental range
Rated for operation from -25 °C to 70 °C ambient, with no derating needed across that span — the 100 A rating holds at every temperature from 40 °C through 70 °C. Storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C. Insulation voltage is 800 V, so it's comfortable on 690 V systems (where its breaking capacity drops to 3.7 kA).
