What this 3VA2 carries
Rated continuous current Iu is 100 A, and it holds that rating from 40 °C up to 50 °C without derating; at 55 °C you're still at 96.25 A, and at 70 °C it's 85 A. Interrupting capacity is the headline number for selectivity studies: 187 kA at 240 V AC, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 79 kA at 500 V, and 4.25 kA at 690 V. That's a high SCCR for a 100 A frame — it lets you coordinate downstream without upgrading the main breaker in most industrial panels. Power loss is 10 W maximum — modest for a 100 A electronic-trip MCCB, which keeps the enclosure thermal rise manageable.
That's enough for a PLC digital input per signal without sharing contacts. The breaker ships with the basic switch 3VA2110-5JP32-0AA0 and an integrated auxiliary trip 3VA9688-0BL32. The shunt trip (STL) is included on this variant — no separate undervoltage release fitted. Communication function is present, so you can integrate it into a SENTRON power monitoring system via the optional communication module.
