100 A, flat across the thermal curve — no derate to 70 °C
The 3VA2110-5JP42-0AA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous at every ambient temperature from 40 °C through 70 °C. That means no thermal derating for a warm panel — the full 100 A is available at 70 °C ambient, not a short-time or special-condition rating. The ETU550 electronic trip unit handles the overcurrent protection logic. Breaking capacity runs 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V. At 690 V the available fault current drops sharply, so confirm the system's prospective short-circuit current at that voltage level before specifying. Four poles, communication function onboard, and an optional motor drive — this is a line-protection MCCB that fits a distribution or motor control center with a 400 V to 690 V supply. The 140 mm width and 86 mm depth place it in the standard SENTRON 3VA mounting footprint; no special adapter plate needed for a panel designed around the 3VA family.
Panel fit and integration
IP40 on the front — suitable for a closed panel or enclosure; not rated for washdown or outdoor exposure. The 86 mm depth and 140 mm width keep it within the DIN-rail or mounting-plate envelope typical of a 4-pole MCCB in a 600 mm wide distribution board. Spring-cage terminals (standard for the 3VA family) accept copper conductors up to the rated cross-section; no lug kit required unless the installer prefers ring terminals.
