What this MCCB is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA2110-5JQ32-0HC0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous at 40 °C, with an adjustable thermal-magnetic trip unit covering 20 A to 100 A full-scale. It's designed for line protection — meaning it sits at the feeder or main in a distribution panel, not on a specific motor or load. The interrupting capacity hits 187 kA at 240 V and still holds 121 kA at 415 V, so it handles high-fault scenarios without cascading upstream. That 100 A rating holds flat from 40 °C all the way up to 70 °C — no derating headache in a hot enclosure.
Fit and panel integration
Dimensions are 181 mm high, 105 mm wide, 86 mm deep — a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for a SENTRON 3VA frame. It mounts on a DIN rail or direct panel, and the 86 mm depth leaves room for rear-access bus bars or cable ladders. The shunt trip (STL) and two auxiliary switches (HQ) are factory-fitted, so you don't lose a slot in the panel for add-on modules. Power loss is max 10 W, negligible for enclosure heat rise.
