What it is and what the ratings mean for fit
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2110-5JQ36-0AA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current from 40 °C to 70 °C. Interrupting capacity is the headline: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V. For a 100 A frame those numbers give serious SCCR headroom — it can sit upstream of a distribution board without worrying about cascading faults, as long as the available fault current at its terminals stays under those curves. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, so it handles 690 V line-to-line with margin on the insulation coordination. The adjustable thermal-magnetic trip range runs from 150 A to 1 200 A — that's the magnetic pickup window, not the continuous rating. Set the magnetic threshold to coordinate with downstream branch breakers.
Mounting and integration
Footprint: 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, 86 mm deep. That's a standard SENTRON 3VA fixed-panel mount — bolts onto the backplate, no DIN rail. The 86 mm depth means it clears a 200 mm deep enclosure with room for wiring gutters. This variant includes a communication function for a COM module slot, enabling status and trip reporting to a PLC or SCADA. No undervoltage release fitted. Power loss is 10 W maximum — negligible for panel thermal budgeting, but worth noting if you're packing multiple breakers in a sealed enclosure.
