What it is and what it does
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2110-5KP32-0BH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous at 40 °C, with an adjustable thermal-magnetic trip unit covering 150 A to 1 200 A. It's designed for line protection in distribution panels and switchgear. The interrupting ratings are substantial: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V. That SCCR headroom means it can handle high-fault-capacity mains without cascading upstream. It carries an undervoltage release (UVR) and a communication function, plus two auxiliary switches and one trip alarm switch. The basic switch module is order code 3VA21105KP320AA0.
Sizing and thermal performance
The continuous current rating holds at 100 A across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling. That simplifies panel design in warm enclosures or near other heat sources. Maximum power loss is 12.5 W, which is modest for a 100 A frame. The operating temperature range spans -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C.
Physical fit and panel integration
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, and 86 mm deep. That 105 mm width is the standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for this frame size — it drops into existing SENTRON panel layouts without re-drilling. The trip indicator is present, and the unit has no voltage-trigger function. Ground-fault monitoring is not included on this variant.
