What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA2110-5KP32-0DA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection in industrial distribution panels. It carries a continuous current rating of 100 A across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling. The adjustable thermal-magnetic trip unit covers 150 A to 1 200 A, so you set the actual protection threshold to match the downstream load, not the breaker's frame size.
Breaking capacity across voltage levels
Breaking capacity varies with system voltage: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V. At typical 400 V-class industrial feeds (415 V or 440 V), the 121 kA rating handles high-fault scenarios like large transformer secondaries or motor-control-center buswork. The 690 V figure drops sharply — if your system runs at that voltage, verify the available fault current stays under 3.7 kA.
Built-in auxiliaries and communication
This MCCB ships with an undervoltage release (UVR) as standard. It also includes a communication function for remote monitoring or signaling.
Panel fit and environment
Dimensions are 86 mm deep, 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall — a standard MCCB footprint for 3-pole frames in this class. Operating range spans -25 °C to 70 °C ambient, storage from -40 °C to 80 °C. Maximum power loss is 12.5 W, manageable in enclosed panels with basic ventilation. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, giving headroom for 690 V systems.
