What this MCCB is and what it does
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2110-5KP32-0DC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current, designed for line protection in distribution panels. Its interrupting capacity hits 187 kA at 240 V and 121 kA at 415/440 V, dropping to 75.6 kA at 500 V and 3.7 kA at 690 V — so at typical 400 V industrial feeds it clears faults up to 121 kA without cascading upstream breakers. The 100 A rating holds flat across the full operating temperature range from -25 °C to 70 °C, meaning no derating is needed for warm enclosures or outdoor cabinets within that band. Power loss at rated current is 12.5 W maximum — manageable for thermal budgeting in a packed panel.
Panel fit and integration
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, and 86 mm deep — a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint that fits most DIN-rail or panel-mount enclosures without gland-plate modification. The 86 mm depth is the dimension to watch for shallow backboxes or door clearance. It ships with two auxiliary switches (HQ type) and an undervoltage release (UVR) integrated, so the auxiliary contact block and shunt-trip wiring are already accounted for in the panel layout. No separate UVR module to mount alongside. Communication function is built in — the breaker can report status and trip events over the bus, which saves pulling separate signal wires back to the PLC for each MCCB in a motor control center.
