What this MCCB delivers
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2110-5KP36-0AA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling. That flat thermal curve is unusual; most breakers start stepping down above 40 °C. The ETU850 electronic trip unit gives you adjustable long-time, short-time, instantaneous, and ground-fault protection curves, plus a communication function for remote monitoring and coordination over a fieldbus network. Breaking capacity sits at 187 kA at 240 V AC, 121 kA at 415/440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V — so the SCCR headroom is substantial at typical distribution voltages, but drops sharply above 500 V. If your panel feeds a 690 V motor drive, verify the fault current at that point doesn't exceed 3.7 kA, or you'll need a current-limiting upstream device.
Panel fit and footprint
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, 86 mm deep — a standard SENTRON 3VA frame size that mounts on a DIN rail or directly to a backplate. The IP40 front protection means it's fine inside a closed panel but not for washdown areas. At 10 W maximum power loss, heat dissipation is manageable; still, leave at least 50 mm clearance above and below for airflow and arc-chamber venting, per Siemens mounting guidelines.
