What this MCCB gives you on a motor circuit
The Siemens 3VA2110-5MN32-0KL0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker from the SENTRON family, rated a full 100 A all the way from 40 °C up to 70 °C ambient — no derating headache in a warm panel. It's built for motor protection with phase failure detection built in, so if you lose a leg on a pump or conveyor, this breaker trips and keeps the windings from cooking. Breaking capacity is serious: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V, and still 75.6 kA at 500 V. That kind of headroom means it'll clear a fault on a big motor starter or a feeder without welding the contacts shut — even on a stiff industrial grid.
Fit and panel integration
The breaker measures 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, and 86 mm deep — standard SENTRON 3VA footprint. It mounts on a DIN rail or can be screw-fixed to a backplate. The shunt trip (STL) release and the auxiliary switch block (2 aux + 1 trip alarm + 1 electrical alarm) are factory-installed, so no field wiring of add-on kits. Power loss is capped at 10 W max, which keeps the heat out of a tightly packed enclosure. Operating temp range is -25 to 70 °C, storage from -40 to 80 °C — fine for a non-conditioned electrical room or an outdoor panel in most climates.
