Motor Protection MCCB — 100 A, Flat Derating Curve
The Siemens 3VA2110-5MN36-0AH0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current, designed specifically for motor protection duty. The continuous rating holds flat from 40 °C through 70 °C ambient — no derating required across that band, which simplifies panel sizing in warm enclosures. Breaking capacity reaches 187 kA at 240 V, stepping down to 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V. For a motor branch circuit on a 400 V class system, the 121 kA interrupting rating at 415 V covers virtually all utility-fault scenarios without requiring a current-limiting upstream device.
Integration — Panel Fit and Auxiliary Switching
Dimensions are 86 mm depth, 105 mm width, and 181 mm height. The 105 mm width is standard for a 3-pole MCCB in the SENTRON 3VA2 frame; it occupies three adjacent 35 mm DIN-rail positions with no side gap required. Depth of 86 mm clears most 200 mm deep enclosures with room for rear busbar connections. Factory-fitted auxiliary switch block provides 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch (HQ type). The trip alarm signals on thermal or magnetic trip — useful for remote fault indication on a motor control center (MCC) bucket. Phase failure detection is integrated; undervoltage release and ground-fault monitoring are not present on this variant.
