What this MCCB is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA2110-6HN36-0BC0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection in distribution panels. Rated for 100 A continuous current across the full ambient range from -25 °C to 70 °C, it holds its full rating without derating up to 70 °C — useful in warm enclosures or near other heat sources. The 3-pole construction handles three-phase circuits, and the interrupting ratings climb to 242 kA at 240 V, 187 kA at 415 V, and 121 kA at 500 V, with 3.7 kA at 690 V. That means it can safely clear high-fault currents on the secondary side of a large transformer or in a low-voltage switchgear lineup.
Built-in undervoltage release
This MCCB ships with an undervoltage release (UVR) factory-installed — part of the order code structure. The UVR trips the breaker when supply voltage drops below a set threshold, which is standard for motor feeder protection or emergency-stop circuits where you want the breaker to open on loss of control power. The auxiliary switch complement is two HQ-style switches, giving status feedback for remote monitoring or PLC inputs.
Panel fit and thermal management
Footprint: 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, 86 mm deep. The 105 mm width is a standard 3-pole MCCB width for this class — it fits Siemens SENTRON mounting plates and busbar systems without adapters. Power loss is 12.5 W maximum at rated current; that's low enough that forced ventilation is not required in a typical enclosure, but worth checking if the panel is densely packed. Storage range from -40 °C to 80 °C covers most warehouse and shipping conditions.
