What this MCCB carries — and what that means for the panel
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2110-6HN36-0DH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating curve to chase for standard panel temperatures. Breaking capacity is 242 kA at 240 V AC, 187 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 121 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V — the 240 V figure is the headline, but the 415 V rating is the one that governs most European industrial distribution boards. Line protection design means the internal trip curve is fixed for feeder and distribution duty — not adjustable for motor or generator protection. The built-in undervoltage release (UVR) drops the breaker on loss of control voltage, and the auxiliary switch package includes two auxiliary switches plus one trip alarm switch HQ. Power loss is 12.5 W maximum at rated current — relevant for thermal budgeting inside a sealed enclosure with multiple breakers ganged together.
Mounting dimensions and panel fit
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, 86 mm deep — the width is the critical number for DIN-rail or mounting-plate spacing in a multi-breaker lineup. Verify the 86 mm depth clears the gland plate or rear panel wiring trough. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C. The storage minimum matters for unheated warehouses in cold climates — the breaker can sit at -40 °C without damage as long as it's not energized.
