Siemens SENTRON 3VA2110-6HN36-0FC0 — 100 A MCCB with ETU350
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2110-6HN36-0FC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for a continuous current of 100 A at 40 °C through 50 °C, with a rated insulation voltage of 800 V. It carries a breaking capacity of 242 kA at 240 V and 187 kA at 415 V, dropping to 3.75 kA at 690 V — the high short-circuit ratings at the lower voltages make it a strong candidate for main feeder or high-fault-point distribution in 240 V and 415 V networks where SCCR headroom is needed. The ETU350 electronic trip unit handles the overcurrent protection logic. This is the line protection version (no ground-fault or phase-failure detection built in), so it is sized for straightforward cable and busbar protection rather than motor or generator circuits. The auxiliary contact configuration is two HQ auxiliary switches, and an integrated undervoltage release with leading NO contacts — part number 3VA9908-0BC24 — is fitted as the supplied auxiliary trip. The breaker's footprint is 105 mm wide by 181 mm tall by 107 mm deep, and it mounts with the standard SENTRON 3VA2 panel or DIN-rail interface. The front face carries an IP40 protection rating, meaning it is protected against solid objects larger than 1 mm but not sealed against moisture — keep it inside a rated enclosure for washdown or outdoor environments.
Thermal derating and operating range
The 100 A rating holds flat from 40 °C to 50 °C. Above that, the breaker derates linearly: 96.25 A at 55 °C, 92.5 A at 60 °C, 88.75 A at 65 °C, and 85 A at 70 °C. If the panel ambient runs above 50 °C, the continuous load must be reduced accordingly — the derating curve is the governing spec for the real installation, not the 100 A nameplate. The operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C.
