Breaking capacity and selectivity planning
The 3VA2110-6HN36-0KH0: Breaking capacity drops with voltage: 187 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 121 kA at 500 V, and 5 kA at 690 V. That 5 kA figure at 690 V is the hard ceiling — if your panel feeds a 690 V bus with fault current above that, this breaker will not clear it. For most 400 V-class distribution, the 187 kA headroom is generous enough to coordinate downstream MCBs without cascading.
Thermal derating and continuous current
Rated 100 A from 40 °C through 50 °C ambient. Above that, derate linearly: 96.25 A at 55 °C, 92.5 A at 60 °C, 88.75 A at 65 °C, and 85 A at 70 °C. If the panel internal temperature runs hot — say, near a VFD or transformer — the 85 A floor at 70 °C is the figure to use for load planning. The maximum power loss is 10 W.
Integrated accessories and wiring
Factory-fitted with a shunt trip (STL) release (design code 3VA9688-0BL33) and a 2-auxiliary-switch plus 1-trip-alarm-switch HQ contact block. The shunt trip allows remote tripping via a control voltage — useful for emergency-stop circuits or PLC-driven load shedding. No undervoltage release, no ground-fault monitoring, no communication module on this variant. The basic switch core is 3VA2110-6HN36-0AA0.
Physical footprint and panel fit
Dimensions: 181 mm height, 105 mm width, 86 mm depth. The 105 mm width is standard for a 3-pole 3VA2 frame — it drops into the same mounting footprint as other 3VA2 breakers of this pole count. No DIN-rail mount; this is a screw-fixed panel or enclosure backplate installation.
Environmental and compliance
Operating temperature range -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range -40 °C to 80 °C. Rated insulation voltage Ui is 800 V. The trip indicator and voltage trigger are present on this unit. Compliance documentation (RoHS, REACH, UL, IEC) is standard for the SENTRON line — the brand provides a declaration of conformity and UL file listing upon request through the supply channel.
