What this 100 A MCCB carries
Four poles handle three-phase plus neutral switching, with an insulation voltage (Ui) rated at 800 V. Breaking capacity is the headline number for selectivity studies: 242 kA at 240 V, 187 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 121 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V. Those figures give the SCCR headroom needed for high-fault utility feeds or transformer secondaries — the 242 kA at 240 V is particularly relevant for North American 240/120 V center-tapped services where available fault current can exceed 100 kA.
An optional motor drive (product extension) is available for remote switching, and the communication function allows the ETU860 to report trip events and load data over a network.
The lifecycle stage is current — this is an active-production part in the SENTRON 3VA family. No phase-out or last-time-buy notice is attached. For volume or blanket-order commitments, the communication function and optional motor drive should be specified at the same time to avoid a separate procurement cycle.
