The ETU550 electronic trip unit provides adjustable long-time, short-time, instantaneous, and ground-fault protection curves — a step up from fixed thermal-magnetic trip units, giving the specifying engineer selectivity tuning for coordinated fault isolation downstream.
The interrupting ratings cover the voltage bands you will encounter in most industrial and commercial services: 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V. For 690 V applications, verify that your available fault current stays under 3.7 kA, or step to a higher-rated frame. At the common 415 V / 440 V level, 242 kA covers virtually any transformer-backed service without a current-limiting reactor upstream.
The front face carries an IP40 rating. Power loss is rated at 10 W maximum at full load. That is low enough that ventilation in a standard IP54 enclosure is adequate; no forced cooling required unless the panel is densely packed with multiple breakers at full rating.
