What it is and what it does
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2110-7MN32-0HH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed specifically for motor protection. It carries a continuous current rating of 100 A across the full ambient temperature range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed as the panel warms up, which is a real advantage in a packed enclosure. This MCCB includes phase failure detection and a shunt trip release, making it suited for motor branch circuits where loss of a phase needs to trip the breaker fast. The built-in trip indicator and voltage trigger give the field tech a clear visual and electrical signal on fault events.
Interrupting capacity — where it holds and where it drops
The interrupting capacity is 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, and 187 kA at 500 V. That's serious fault-clearing headroom for most industrial distribution panels. At 690 V it drops to 3.7 kA — still adequate for motor-starting duty but not for high-fault buswork at that voltage. If your system runs at 690 V with available fault current above 3.7 kA, this breaker is not the right choice.
Panel fit and integration
Dimensions are 86 mm deep by 105 mm wide by 181 mm tall — a compact 3-pole footprint that fits standard SENTRON panel cutouts. The auxiliary switch block (2 aux + 1 trip alarm) and shunt trip release are factory-integrated, so no field assembly of add-on modules.
