Siemens SENTRON 3VA2110-7MN32-0KA0 — 100 A Motor Protection MCCB with Shunt Trip
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2110-7MN32-0KA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current across the full ambient temperature range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling. It is designed specifically for motor protection, with integrated phase failure detection and a shunt trip (STL) auxiliary release for remote tripping. Interrupting capacity is voltage-dependent: 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V. That 330 kA figure at 240 V is among the highest in its frame class — suitable for high-fault utility or transformer-fed panels where SCCR coordination demands headroom. The shunt trip release (STL) allows a remote signal — from an emergency stop, PLC output, or protective relay — to open the breaker independently of the overload or short-circuit mechanism. This is the release you want when the trip command comes from outside the breaker itself, not from its internal bimetal or electronic trip unit.
Panel Fit and Mounting
Dimensions are 181 mm high, 105 mm wide, and 86 mm deep. The 105 mm width is standard for a 3-pole MCCB in this frame class — it occupies three 35 mm DIN-rail modules plus a small margin. Depth of 86 mm leaves clearance for rear-mounted accessories and wiring gutters in a typical 200 mm deep enclosure. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C. Maximum power loss is 10 W — negligible for panel thermal budgeting unless densely packed.
