Motor-protection MCCB with flat derating curve
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2110-7MN36-0AA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current, designed specifically for motor protection. It carries a flat thermal derating curve: 100 A from 40 °C through 70 °C ambient, which means no current reduction in a warm enclosure — a practical advantage when the breaker shares space with other heat sources. The adjustable trip class (10A, 10E, 20E) lets you match the overload curve to the motor's starting profile; 10A is tight for fast-starting pumps, 20E gives more headroom for high-inertia loads like centrifuges or conveyors. Phase failure detection is built in, so the breaker will trip on a lost phase before single-phasing damages the motor winding. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, which covers 480 V and 600 V class systems with margin. The interrupting ratings are the headline numbers for panel coordination: 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V. At typical industrial voltages (480 V / 415 V) the SCCR is well above what most distribution transformers can deliver, so this breaker can be placed near the service entrance without worrying about series-rated cascading.
Panel fit and mounting dimensions
Footprint is 105 mm wide by 181 mm tall by 86 mm deep. The 105 mm width is a standard 3-pole MCCB form factor for this SENTRON generation; it occupies three 35 mm DIN-rail modules worth of panel width when mounted on the optional DIN adapter, or bolts directly into a fixed-mount base. Depth of 86 mm (3.39 in) leaves clearance behind a standard 200 mm deep enclosure door. No undervoltage release or shunt trip is fitted on this variant, and there is no trip indicator flag — the trip status is read from the handle position only.
