100 A continuous, flat across the thermal range
The Siemens 3VA2110-7MN36-0AG0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current from 40 °C through 70 °C — no derating needed across that span, which simplifies panel sizing when ambient temperatures vary. Per the datasheet, the 100 A holds at every 5 °C increment from 40 °C to 70 °C inclusive. Breaking capacity reaches 330 kA at 240 V, dropping to 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, then 187 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V. That 330 kA at 240 V covers high-fault utility feeds; the steep drop at 690 V means this breaker is not intended for 690 V motor circuits unless the available fault current is verified below 3.7 kA.
Motor protection design with phase failure detection
This MCCB is explicitly designed for motor protection, which means its trip curve is shaped to handle motor inrush without nuisance tripping while still clearing overloads. Phase failure detection is built in — if one phase drops, the breaker trips, preventing single-phasing damage to the motor windings. The auxiliary switch configuration is 1 auxiliary + 1 trip alarm switch HP. That gives one set of contacts for status feedback (open/closed) and one dedicated to trip indication, which is useful for remote alarm annunciation on a motor control center.
Panel fit and environmental limits
Dimensions: 86 mm depth, 105 mm width, 181 mm height. The 105 mm width is a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for this class — verify the existing panel cutout or DIN-rail spacing against those numbers before ordering. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C. Maximum power loss is 10 W.
